East African Members States Securities Regulatory Authority (EASRA)

EASRA is a forum for East African capital markets regulators which was established in 1997 by the signing of a memorandum of understanding by Tanzania, Kenya and Uganda. Rwanda joined the forum in March this year 2008 by signing the memorandum of understanding.  Concerted efforts are being made to have all the member countries in the East African region join the forum and Burundi is expected to join soon.

The main objectives of EASRA are;
  1.  Information sharing among the members;
  2. Mutual assistance and cooperation between members; and 
  3. Advancing the integration of the East African capital markets
Members of EASRA meet three times a year to discuss, deliberate and make decisions on a number of capital markets regulation and development issues within the region.
