Nyale Yanga is responsible for providing strategic and technical leadership in coordinating timely legal and financial review of applications for licensing, no objection request, issue of securities, corporate actions among others to ensure compliance with the Capital Markets Legal and Regulatory Framework.
He has over 14 years’ experience in capital markets having worked in various capacities at the Authority. He has championed the automation of submitting financial statements of market intermediaries to the Authority, participated in developing the risk-based supervision model and risk-based capital adequacy regime for licensees. He is also charged with implementing bonds market reforms as part of the ten-year Kenyan Capital Markets Master Plan.
Nyale is the alternate chair of the Capital Markets Authority Sandbox Review Committee. He also chairs the Market Supervision and Risk Management Committee of the East Africa Securities Regulators Authorities and the Financial Services Technical Committee of Kenya Bureau of Standards as well as sits in the registration committee of the Institute of Certified Investments and Financial Analysts.
Nyale has a Bachelor of Commerce degree and master’s degree in Business Administration (Finance) both from The University of Nairobi. He has a Post Graduate Certificate in Capital Markets Development from The George Washington University (USA). He a fellow of the IFC-Milken Institute, a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Secretary.
CS. H. K Ombati is a holder of a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) in Strategic Management from the Catholic University of Eastern Africa and a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from the University of Nairobi. She is a Certified Public Secretary and a member of the Institute of Certified Secretaries of Kenya (ISPCK), CS. H .K .Ombati is an advocate of the High Court of Kenya and a member of the Law Society of Kenya as well as the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators - UK and the Kenya Institute of Supply Management. She also holds a Diploma in French from Alliance Française - Paris.
She joined the Capital Markets Authority (CMA) in May 2016 as the Head Legal Affairs and Corporation Secretary. Prior to joining the CMA, she served as the Manager Legal Services & Board Coordination at the Kenya Revenue Authority. CS. H.K Ombati has been involved in conveyancing practice, preparation of contracts and legal Agreements, Commercial Law as well as company secretarial work. She has also participated in civil society where she was engaged in civil litigation and prosecution of criminal cases at FIDA Kenya. She has also worked as a State Counsel at the Attorney General’s Chambers. Currently, she is practicing Securities and financial services law as well as commercial law.
Richard Chirchir is a seasoned ICT manager with expertise in a diverse range of technologies within multiple industry setting. He has over 15 years of demonstrated success in senior management focusing mainly in ICT and enterprise business systems.
Richard has developed innovative and leading ICT solutions and aligned ICT strategy, policies andstandards to the overall business strategy. Richard has undertaken various professional training in ICT Security, Database Management, Project Management, and Strategic Managements among others. He a holder of BSc in Computer and Physics and also has a Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Science.
Mr. James M. Kivuva is the Manager Strategic Projects. James has over ten (10) years’ experience in the financial sector and he joins us from Housing Finance (HFC) where he held a Projects Manager Position in Strategic Projects division. Prior to that he had worked at Co-operative Bank where he held the position of a Senior Business Process Analyst/ Projects Manager in the Business Change Management department.
CHRP Andrew Muthabuku is the Manager, Human Capital & Administration. He joined the Capital Markets Authority on 1st July 2011 to take up this role where he is charged with the responsibility of providing strategic guidance and leadership to the Human Capital & Administration functions.
Andrew is a Certified Human Resources Practitioner (CHRP) with over 20 years’ demonstrated experience and success in the Human Resources profession. He joined the Capital Markets Authority (CMA) from the Kenya Airports Authority (KAA) where he worked for over 15 years and rose through the ranks to the position of Manager - Human Resources Services, a position he last held before joining the Capital Markets Authority.
He is a holder of Master’s in Business Administration –Human Resources from Kenyatta University and a Bachelor of Arts in Public Administration from Moi University. He is among the first pioneer students of the Higher Diploma in Human Resources Management acquired from the Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM) in 1997. He is also an accredited and practicing member of the Institute of Human Resource Management. Andrew also holds a Diploma in Change Management from Oxford Business School, UK.
He has vast expertise in Human Capital matters acquired through diverse training, industry practice and Human Resources Networks. Andrew is very passionate about positioning Human Resources (HR) as a strategic contributor and catalyst towards organizational success.
