Mr. Justus Agoti

Justus is an experienced capital markets expert. He has over 20 years experience in capital markets operations and strategy, specializing in Research, Economics, Financial Markets, Issuer/SME capital access, Strategy, Product Development and Sustainable Finance. Currently, he is the Deputy Director, Market Deepening at the Capital Markets Authority, coordinating the product development, uptake and innovation initiatives at the Authority. Mr. Agoti is a member of various Working teams, including the Market Development Committee, the REITs Development Committee and the Innovation & Technology Subcommittee of the Joint Financial Sector Regulators and the Virtual Assets Implementation Committee of the Capital Markets Authority.

Mr. Agoti has previously served as a Senior Manager, Market Deepening at CMA, coordinating the conduct of market development and oversight work, aimed at developing new policies, systems and strategies for the better operation of Kenya’s capital markets. He has also previously actively participated in Public–Private Partnership (PPP) engagements as a resource person.

Mr. Agoti holds an M.A and B.A degree in Economics from the University of Nairobi. Additionally, he has Human Resource Management and Accounting qualifications.  In addition, Mr. Agoti has Financial Analyst certification as a Capital Markets Securities Analyst (CMSA) from the Corporate Finance Institute (CFI®) and the Institute of Certified Investment and Financial Analysts (ICIFA). Mr. Agoti is also a certified negotiator, with a qualification in Negotiation Mastery from Harvard Business School (HBS) and is an Expert in Sustainable Finance, with a qualification from the Frankfurt School of Development Finance.
